Things I love: Dutch oven

OK, show of hands. Who went out and bought a Dutch oven after seeing Julie & Julia?

Anyone?

Just me?

Oh.

It was that scene of the beef bourguignon that sold it for me. I immediately put ‘Dutch oven’ on my birthday wish list. My husband gave me one for my birthday.

Last year.

I used it for the first time the day after my birthday.

This year.

I was a little slow on the take there, but that has changed. Since using my Dutch oven to make mulligatawny soup last week, I’ve also used it to burn cook the onion strings. I’m flipping through my cookbooks today, wondering what to use it for next.

I heart you Dutch oven.
